They pulled over to the side of a wide road and Yaron killed the lights, hiding their black car under the inky dark night. Yaron pointed out the towering home down the street, surrounded by tall stone walls.
“Not trying to fly beneath the radar, hmm?” Yaron moved his seat back and propped his legs up on the dashboard.
“No,” Lior answered shortly.
But Yaron was clearly not finished chatting. “Do you think that the chemical shipment you found will be enough to implicate Dakhir Tahan?”
“I don’t know.”
“What do you make of Sahir saying Niazi left the country?”
Lior didn’t respond.
Yaron chuckled. “Are you always like this?”
“Well, considering that my wife and daughter’s lives aren’t usually hanging in peril, then I’ll say no, I’m not always like this,” Lior replied angrily.
